What is cellular hydration?
First it’s important to understand that your body actually MAKES water in your mitochondria & if you were to count the molecules in your body, 99% of those molecules would be water.
Unfortunately our modern environments are set up in a way that destroy the body’s ability to make water and hold onto water, so learning how to navigate this is absolutely crucial when it comes to staying hydrated and healthy.
According to a study published in 2023 ( a study that took 25 years to complete): Adults who aren't sufficiently hydrated may age faster, face a higher risk of chronic diseases and be more likely to die younger than those who stay well-hydrated. (See study)
Furthermore: While we often hear about the immediate impacts of dehydration, the long-term effects of not drinking enough water haven't been studied as much until recently.
Recent research shows that even mild, ongoing dehydration can increase the risk of heart disease, heart failure, diabetes, obesity, kidney problems, cancer, early death, and faster aging(see study)
